so we had planned to do a BBQ as soon as we got back in the water but we had too many loose ends to finish up. we where one bay over taking advantage of the fast internet and of course since i am working now i was on the phone most of the day and only got off at 5 so we where actually lat to our own party. fortunately it was a short motor around and our friends where a bit later!

So yesterday aimee tried unsuccessfully to report our dingy stollen. She got the shuffle from one spot to another spot finally she found the right spot and gave her report but was told she could not have a copy of it and instead would have to return somewhere else once it was “approved”. Yes, that was the surprise as we headed down the dock to Tiki. We had locked her up but had not locked the dingy engine on as our 1st lock had corroded onto our cable and it was not possible to thread the cable through the engine with out cutting the lock off. Quite frankly we did not expect someone to walk up or dingy up in front of a crowd of people and unbolt and cart off our engine but that...

you can see from the photo’s that the carnival event was all and more than we expected. we got to shore in the afternoon just as the “day” event was finishing up in st george. the timing was perfect we arrived to empty streets and as we checked out the various vendors set up along the road we ran into the “lead element” of the carnival.

we blasted over to waka irie in the tiki and wasted no time breaking out the cold beer and getting the dinghies tied up and under way.
we had a super relaxing sail over. always great to be on someone else’s boat. sietse complained a bit about the rolling but we where right at home so happy to be on an actual floating boat!

well we did it!
it took longer and more paint this morning to get the second coat on everything but we managed to “finish” our painting and get the tape off. apparently you can only leave the tape on for 48 hours we pushed it another 12 and it was quite hard to get off and did leave some gum. this was a small price to pay for not having to re-tape!
